This training programme aims at enhancing the understanding of the participants on the growing diversification of work arrangements and the transformations in the labour market due to automation and digitalization. As the world of work continues to evolve, some emerging work and employment arrangements may provide greater flexibility for workers and employers, but they may lead to significant gaps in social protection coverage. It is therefore necessary to strengthen and adapt social protection systems to a changing world of work. More than ever, they have a key role in preventing poverty, reducing inequality, enhancing income security and enabling workers and their families to better navigate work and life transitions.

The course would enhance the understanding of young researchers to learn about various methods and approaches pertaining to research on gender and labour issues. The course will familiarize the participants with qualitative and quantitative techniques on gender and labour research. It would encourage researchers to identify emerging areas for research on labour issues from a gender perspective and enable them to theorize and engage in practical applications of their knowledge in their research pursuits.
