The programme aims at strengthening the understanding of participants on the different lifecycle related challenges of the workers, of which the challenge of income security during old age occupies a very important place. The participants will be made to understand the international standards and best practices on old age protection. The programme will also discuss at length the different pension schemes for workers both in the organized and the unorganized sector.

This programme aims at strengthening the skills of the participants for enhancing their work performances and enable them to play a larger role in the efficient and effective delivery of Welfare and Development programmes to the public in general and working mass in particular

The changing job patterns and working relationships, the rise in self employment, greater sub-contracting, outsourcing of work, homework and the increasing number of employees working away from their establishment, pose problems of occupational safety and health risks at workplaces. New safety hazards and health risks have appeared along with the transfer and adoption of new technologies. Along with this, the lack of health
insurance for workers in the informal economy, pose a double burden of health care expenditure. The programme therefore aims toaddress these issues and the need for social inclusion in order to boost human capital and productivity. It would enable participants to understand the international standards and existing legal instruments as well as some global best practices in order to promote workers’ rights, based on a model of social justice in the area of health protection and security.

To enhance the understanding of the participants on comprehensive social security and develop new ideas for providing rights-based social security to the unorganised workers.

This programme aims at strengthening the knowledge of the participants with good governance, its elements and the various development/welfare initiatives and discuss the issues and mechanisms for the effective delivery to working mass.

The course will familiarize scholars and practitioner on techniques and methods in historical research on labour and labour relations. The course will enable the participants to understand contemporary transformations in the world of work in a historical perspective and familiarize them with the different approaches to history of labour. It will also equip them to undertake systematic research on labour history.

The programme aims at enhancing the understanding of the participants on the process of labour reforms in India. It would orient the participants to have an understanding on the key features of various labour codes.
